I’ve attended many Meltdown events over the years and think I still have the flyer to Meltdown 2 somewhere from 10 years ago, that’s how long this show has been going strong and I’m totally honored to be on the lineup this year.
Let’s do this Dallas! Tickets and more info can be found at: http://www.meltdowndallas.com – I want to see my h-town crew there in full effect!
We had a blast doing Funtastic Voyage 2 and listened to everyone’s suggestions on what to improve for the next events. We’re updating the following things to make a more comfortable party experience.
So far we’ve got:
-20 added TONS of a/c that will be distributed throughout the venue
-Extra Bars that will be available to everyone (not just VIP ticket holders)
-Early Access to the bowling area with extra bars
-We will an ATM on site if you did not bring cash.
We will also be restructuring the lighting setup in every area to have a totally different visual experience from our last show. If you have more that you would like to see happen, please let us know and drop me a line on Facebook.
On June 27th, 2009 Austin experienced the most intense show that all of Texas has seen in years. Massive Intent brought over 7500 people together with the best lighting, sound, lasers and video for a really amazing show.
I got there around 5pm and helped get the rest of the stage setup with all the gear. When I pulled in there was already at least 200 people in line and a daytime party going on in the parking lot with soundsystems blasting from people’s cars. By 8pm lines were filled with thousands of people and the doors opened up to quickly fill the venue in no time at all.
I took the stage around 10pm to a crowd of over 3,000 people. I was so fueled with excitement that I immediately got into the groove and threw down the hardest hitting tracks that I had in my collection from the past 6 months or so. The crowd was going wild and the vibe was the thickest that I’ve seen in years. So many people dancing and enjoying themselves in front of me, I came out of my shell and joined them on stage with as much excitement and energy as I could.
Here are some of my favorite pictures from the night:
Around 11:30 Eddie Halliwell came up and transitioned into my closing track and had an explosive performance followed by the legendary ATB, Richard Vission and Andrew Parsons.
Austin really needed this show and overall TEXAS really needed this show. It was a total hit and opened up the minds to many new party goers as well as revamped the excitement for the party goers of the past. This also opens the gateway for more quality high production events to come in the future.
